The Tummy 2 Tummy Project
In the summer 2004, Sharon Pickersgill had an idea.
She was learning how to wear her 1 year old daughter, but there was no good video-based instruction available
that wasn't product-specific. She enjoyed the simplicity of using a pouch,
but wanted to venture out into other babywearing carriers, like the Mei Tai to do back positions
that she could use with her growing daughter. "If there was only a video that covered all the babywearing carriers,"
she said. And that is how it all began.
Sharon and her husband Webb eagerly planned and researched to see if it could really be possible to create
such a project, as nothing like it had ever been tried before.
Their first exciting step came when they were
able to get four prominent babywearing experts to agree to be on the DVD, Darien, Tanya, Kelley and Tracy.
Over the next 5 months, dodging holidays and working around personal schedules, all of the filming was completed,
however the editing process was just beginning. Over the next 7 months editing was completed, the interactive
DVD was created, and almost a year and a half from its original conception, the Tummy 2 Tummy DVD project was
now a reality.
